Current: The Alle-Kiski Center for Active Adults (formerly New Kensington Senior Center) is part of the Alle-Kiski Valley Senior Citizens Center, Inc., a 501(c)3 tax-exempt, nonprofit corporation. The Alle-Kiski Senior Citizens Activity Center was founded on May 16th, 1975 by the Alcoa Retirees Club, led by T.J. Miller. The center is located at 1039 Third Avenue in New Kensington, PA in the former United Steel Workers building. We enjoy a large and well furnished building that is easy to get to just outside of downtown New Kensington, PA. It is staffed with professionally trained personnel and volunteers who plan and assist with our variety of programs and activities. We operate outreach sites in 11 different communities and we operate two satellite centers in East Vandergrift (former East Vandergrift Senior Center) and Avonmore (former Avonmore Senior Center). It is our hope that we will be able to provide continuity for our members and continued growth of the center through our programs and volunteers for generations to come. The center is funded in part by the Westmoreland County Area Agency on Aging, Westmoreland County Board of Commissioners, Pennsylvania Department of Aging, the U.S. Administration of Aging, local city governments, center membership, and volunteer fundraising projects. Our facilities are in compliance with the "Americans With Disabilities Act" allowing easier access for handicapped and wheelchair bound elders.
