Current: The role of the Senior Center is to provide activities and events for residents age 55 and up. Activities include speakers, discussions, and education seminars to fulfill fitness, wellness, and recreational needs of residents in Poolesville and surrounding areas. The overall concept is to provide opportunities for seniors to socialize, take bus trips, hear speakers on important issues relevant to their age, and enjoy music and other entertainment. The Senior Center provides an opportunity for residents to become a part of something important to them. All senior residents are encouraged to offer input and suggestions and to participate in any way they can. Activities and events take place in various venues around Poolesville, such as the Family Life Center of the Baptist Church across from the High School on West Willard, and Town Hall and Whalen Commons.
