Current: The Camden County Senior Center is a public recreation facility designed to meet the needs of our older adult population in Camden County. Through participation and volunteerism, the Center strives to create a place where seniors can socialize and feel a sense of independence. Open to adults age 60 and older, the Senior Center is located in the renovated Ralph Bunche Complex at 1501 Georgia Avenue in Woodbine. Camden’s Senior Center, partners with the Coastal Regional Commission Area Agency on Aging, to provide hot, nutritious lunches every Monday through Friday at 11:30AM. There is no charge to seniors that participate in the lunch program but in order to receive lunch, seniors must be present at the Center by 10:30AM. Participants get together daily for exercise, outings, bingo, quilting, crafting, sharing of stories and talents, and many other activities. In order to attend any field trips or meal outings, seniors must attend the Center at least 3 times per week. Craft items made by attendees, such as patch quilts, knit hats and scarves and dish detergent dresses, are sold at a very low cost to help fund their outings or other materials needed at the Center. In addition, the Senior Center also receives funding through a grant and local donations.
