Current: It can be very difficult for a senior or someone dealing with mental illness, who has been independent all their life, to ask for or accept help. It can be very challenging for a family member to provide that help while also challenged with other family responsibilities, work, limited time and energy, and/or inexperience with issues faced by the those in need of care. In addition, they help family members maintain their personal bonds and meet their other individual responsibilities with less stress and more energy.
